18c Handwoven Flemish Tapestry
Handwoven wool tapestry from mid-to-late 18c Brussels. Figural scene depicting three females in lavishly decorated sitting room with open window. Crowned Queen dressed in pearl necklaces and bracelets, draped gown and detailed sandals. Two ladies-in-waiting, one with flowers and one with chin rested on hand. Floral, foliate and fruit garland border. Exceptional, grand size. Muted colors consistent with artistic style of 17c-18c period. Includes curved bronze painted metal curtain rod with finials and drapery rings. Slight tears in tapestry, consistent with age.
